In conjunction with last week’s issuance of the new DOD Instruction 5000.90 Cybersecurity for Acquisition Decision Authorities and Program Managers , wanted to let the life cycle logistics and product support community know that the Department of Defense also issued an updated DoD Instruction 5000.02T Operation of the Defense Acquisition System.

As a quick reminder, the DoDI 5000.02T is a transition document that will eventually be replaced by DoDI 5000.02 Operation of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework. Specifically, “DoD Instruction (DoDI) 5000.02 lays the groundwork for operation of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework, which is part of the Defense Acquisition System described in DoD Directive 5000.01. DoDI 5000.02 will eventually cancel this issuance, which has been renumbered DoDI 5000.02T (Transition) to establish a distinction between the two issuances.”
