Your DAU life cycle logistics colleagues are excited to announce the deployment of an updated and reconfigured CLCL 014A Parts & Material Life Cycle Management Credential. This newest defense acquisition credential is now available for student registration!

Defense Acquisition Credentials provide no-tuition cost opportunities for acquisition professionals to take their professional development to the next level by focusing on skills needed for specific jobs and career fields. Targeted, job-specific credentials go in-depth into specific topics and, upon completion, require students to demonstrate hands-on mastery of subject matter. This ensures that when an acquisition professional completes a DAU credential, they can apply that training on the job. Credentials are developed primarily through workforce requirements identified by Functional Area Leaders (FAL), and similar to weapon systems supported by the acquisition workforce, credentials require upkeep to ensure relevant and value-added content.

The updates to the CLCL 014A Parts & Material Life Cycle Management Credential include incorporation of two newly deployed learning assets, LOG 0400 Additive Manufacturing Case Studies and CON 0040 Market Research online training courses. The revamped Parts & Material Life Cycle Management credential brings together 14 on-line training (OLT) courses and supporting resources to offer a comprehensive overview of DoD parts and material life cycle management. It is designed to provide learners an overarching understanding of the life cycle logistician’s responsibilities for planning, developing, and implementing all aspects of Parts and Material Life Cycle Management, such as: Diminishing Manufacturing Source and Material Shortages (DMSMS), Root Cause Analysis, Supportability Analysis, Cybersecurity, and Additive Manufacturing. A credential scenario fills the gaps between the competencies aligned to Sustaining Engineering and the courses. A summative examination must be completed to demonstrate learning. The target audience includes defense acquisition workforce personnel from all functional areas, including life cycle logistics, engineering & technical management, business/financial management, cost estimating, contracting, test & evaluation and program management, as well as their industry and other federal government counterparts.

In addition to three new product support-focused credentials for Digital Product Support, Supply Chain Resilience, and Product Support Data Requirements that are currently in development, CLCL 014A is one of fifteen Integrated Product Support (IPS) Element-based Life Cycle Logistics credentials available. For additional information, I encourage you to spread the word and visit our Defense Acquisition Credentials Program homepage, as well as the DAU iCatalog Credentials listing and the DAWIA Certification & Development Guides for each defense acquisition workforce functional area.
