The first DAU Webcast (formerly called "Lunch & Learn") for 2020 is scheduled for Wednesday January 8, 2020 from 1230-1400 EST, via WebEx. Topic is "Fleet Modernization". This Webcast will discuss planning considerations and challenges encountered when initiating modernization programs for fleets of DoD Weapons Systems. We will give you things to think about and questions to ask and investigate as you structure your modernization program.

To participate, keep in mind that registration is no longer required. Simply visit the “DAU Webcasts: Fleet Modernization” session web page, and select "JOIN THE MEETING" link near lower left of page at the scheduled time. Session topics include:
  • Requirements definition
  • Upgrade vs. Sustainment Planning and Design (design considerations, acquisition strategy/pathway, additive manufacturing, etc.)
  • Configuration and Data Management (TDP, data rights, digital engineering, etc.)
  • Testing/Verifying Modernized Design (DT/OT strategy, test assets, ranges/facilities, other agencies, live fire, certifications, etc.)
  • Impacts to Training/Training Devices
  • Producing Modernized Design (production strategy, PCA, PRR, DCMA involvement, etc.)
  • Scheduling Fleet Modernization (installation strategies [depot, prime contractor/OEM, third party, field mod], etc.)
  • Other Modernization Considerations (international customers, impact on organic maintenance, etc.)
