Looking to learn more about “Should Cost”?  In addition to the extensive information available on the Better Buying Power (BBP) Gateway and the Acquisition Proven Practices and Lessons Learned (Acquisition P²L²) site, encourage you to check out a series of overview training videos offered by the Defense Acquisition University entitled “Should Cost vs. Will Cost.” The three videos include:

It includes the Apr 2011 "Will Cost" Should Cost Policy memos.

·         Should Cost vs. Will Cost Part 2 - Should Cost Concept and Process. This thirteen minute module discusses the multi-functional approach to Should Cost and provides an example of a Should Cost Management Plan.

·         Should Cost vs. Will Cost Part 3 – Should Cost Examples. This seven minute module provides two examples of programs doing Should Cost management. It shows specific Should Cost initiatives. It also provides an example of an "Opportunity" cube (akin to a Risk cube).
