According to the announcement, “…the Secretary of Defense PBL Awards recognize government/industry teams who have demonstrated innovative sustainment solutions. The winning teams provided Warfighters with exceptional support through sustainment transformation using creative approaches that yielded improved lethality…The 2022 PBL Award winners will be recognized at the 2023 Office of the Secretary of Defense Product Support Manager Workshop scheduled on September 19-21, 2023, following the formal presentation of the award at their commands.”

Congratulations to all who competed for these prestigious awards, and in particular to the winning Army and Air Force teams. As a reminder for those who may not be aware, the Secretary of Defense System Level PBL Award is named in honor of the late Gerald “Jerry” R. Beck. For additional insights into the many contributions he made in support of our warfighters, see my December 2020 “Honoring a DoD Performance-Based Logistics Champion” LOG Blog post.

For those who may not already be aware, the Secretary of Defense Performance Based Logistics Awards have been awarded annually since 2005.
