WELCOME!  This Acquisition Intelligence Community of Practice (Acq Intel CoP) serves as a repository for Acquisition Intelligence-related knowledge and a place to interact with USAF Acq Intel analysts, Army FIOs, Navy STILOs,  and various other members of this community of practice.  The content within this site is strictly UNCLASSIFIED and organized into three general domains: Policy & Guidance, Events & Articles, and Tools & Training.  We are always looking to improve this site, so your generous feedback is welcome.

Acquisition Intelligence Specialist is a Soldier For Life, Inspiring the Future

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. – Once a Soldier, always a Soldier. U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command Acquisition Intelligence Specialist Kristy L. Green has followed in the footsteps of her father and serves as inspiration to her daughter to serve the Army and her nation.

Ensuring Adequate Intelligence Support for the Acquisition of New Weapon Systems RAND 1995.  This documented briefing examines how intelligence support is provided to the existing DoD requirements and acquisition process and then discusses the adequacy of that support. Next, it describes a number of options to improve intelligence support to the existing process and then examines their relative merits.

The Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and
Security (USD(I&S)) is a civilian official, appointed by the
President and confirmed by the Senate, who reports directly
to the Secretary of Defense. The USD(I&S) is the Principal
Staff Assistant and advisor to the Secretary and Deputy
Secretary of Defense on intelligence, counterintelligence
(CI), security, sensitive activities, and other intelligencerelated
matters. On behalf of the Secretary, the USD(I&S)
also exercises authority, direction, and control over
Department of Defense (DOD) intelligence and security
agencies, field activities, policy, processes, procedures, and
products.
