This course provides concise Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) information for the Executive or Program Manager requiring an understanding of how DMSMS impacts their operations. DMSMS impacts multiple processes including reliability, maintainability, supply chain efficiency, funding, policy, procedure, and staffing. This course is tailored to offer the executive a perspective of management/supervisory actions necessary to enable effective DMSMS mitigation, thereby enhancing mission readiness, efficiency, and cost effectiveness. This one hour course is designed to empower the Manager through an understanding of the challenges and options to ensure proper establishment of an optimum proactive DMSMS team.

This online training course (OLT) provides an entry-level introduction to the issues of counterfeit materiel and counterfeiting's impact on DoD programs and products as well, as to provide information into the identification, reporting, and disposal of known or suspected counterfeit items.

GIDEP is a cooperative data exchange between government and industry participants for sharing and use of existing engineering and failure data. GIDEP provides a means to exchange a variety of data during the acquisition process and life cycle of systems and equipment that can be utilized to improve reliability and reduce the cost of ownership. The program provides a repository of quality and reliability data, coupled with information on diminishing manufacturing sources and materials shortages, and manufacturer’s product changes.
