If I place an OEM on contract and their subcontractor goes out of business or has an obsolete part, shouldn't the OEM be responsible for funding the fix or does it rely on the Government?

Would it be possible (in this thread and in others) to continue the conversation within the forum instead of having OPs get into contact with DAU SMEs via email? I think it would benefit the whole community that is a part of this forum because then we could all see the conversation that is being had if we have similar questions. It could lighten the workload for DAU forum moderators and help out the community at large. I would love to see the answer to this question, even though I don't have this specific issue on my program currently. It could help me in the future if I ever do have this problem!

The Government has an interest from Readiness issues, but the Government "does not" have contractual relationship the subcontractor.
The government will have contractual issues with the OEM. The government does not have the authority to direct subcontractors.
