International Students at DAU

DAU has the ability to provide classroom instruction for international customers.  Eligible foreign governments may purchase training through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, on an FMS case.  If a foreign government is interested in engaging DAU to provide this service, they must first contact their in-country US Security Assistance Organization (SAO) usually located in the Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) at the US embassy in the host nation.  The SAO will work with DAU to develop the FMS case for the foreign purchaser.  DoD 5105.38-M gives further details of the FMS training program.
A Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) is used to provide training to foreign purchasers under the FMS program.  A separate training case may be used if the country prefers, or a separate training line may be included on a larger program LOA.   In order to prepare the LOA, the cost of the training class must first be determined by DAU.      In general, the country receiving the training is required to reimburse the United States for the full costs of the training and related support.  This applies whether the training is provided in CONUS DAU facilities or at an overseas location.
NATO also has a number of schools and training facility that educate Alliance members on the full range of NATO activities.  The NATO school structure is organized as part of Allied Command Transformation (ACT).  Information on specific schools can be found at:  https://www.natoschool.nato.int/
