2006 PBL Award Winners Memo

According to this memo entitled "2006 SECDEF Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) Awards Selection", "PBL is the DoD strategy to improve weapons system readiness by purchasing weapons system sustainment as an integrated package, based on output measures. The SECDEF PBL Award recognizes government / industry teams that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in providing warfighters with exceptional operational capability. I am pleased to announce the 2006 award winners: System Level: HIMARs PBL Team - U.S. Army Sub-system Level: H-60 FLIR PBL Team - U.S. Navy Component Level: F/A 18 and F-14D Cockpit Displays Group PBL Team - U.S. Navy The SECDEF PBL Award recognizes government / industry teams that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in providing warfighters with exceptional operational capability.  To enhance PBL awareness and encourage PBL excellence, the Department instituted the annual PBL Awards Program in 2005. The annual Secretary of Defense PBL Awards recognize successful PBL programs at the system, subsystem, and component level, and also promotes the benefits of implementing effective outcome based product support strategies.
