The PBL Journey

Select the Journey Phases Below to View Key PBL Documentation During that Timeframe :

DoD has been on the Performance Based Logistics/ Performance Based Life Cycle Product Support (PBL) journey since 1997. In the intervening years, DoD policy, processes, and guidance has consistently sought to leverage outcome-based product support and sustainment strategies to deliver optimized affordable readiness in support of warfighter requirements. Seamlessly linked are DoD Life Cycle Management (LCM), initiatives to reduce total ownership costs (TOC)/ life cycle costs (LCC), and interdisciplinary cross-functional integration across both the defense acquisition workforce and the defense logistics enterprise. Note: Many of the documents listed below are provided for historical, archive, or reference purposes, and may have subsequently been superseded or replaced by more current documentation, policy, guidance or reports. For a wide-array of additional PBL-related reports, articles, and related references since 1997, encourage you to also visit the PBL & Product Support Articles and Reports repository in the PBL Reference Library section of this PBL Community of Practice (PBL CoP).
