Risk Management Process
Risk Management
The Risk Management Process is the method to manage risks, issues and opportunities. While risks, issues and opportunities have different characteristics, managing each utilizes a similar process where they are identified, analyzed, mitigated or handled, and monitored. Effectively managing risks, issues, and opportunities helps the Program Manager and Systems Engineer develop and maintain a system’s technical performance, achieve cost goals, and meet schedule estimates. This sub-topical area contains information on the Risk Management Process found in the Systems Engineering Guidebook, Section 4.1.5.
