This Online Training (OLT) course, Introduction to Software Cost Estimation, provides an overview of DoD’s policy, guidance, and application of software cost estimating, and enables the business or program manager to determine if an estimate is realistic and defendable.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Intended for those requiring basic familiarization and requirements information regarding the steps of software cost estimating, typically DOD Acquisition professionals in the following functional areas: Business-Cost Estimating (BUS-CE), Business-Financial Management (BUS-FM), Program Management (PM), Life Cycle Logistics (LCL), and Engineering & Technical Management (ETM)

Recommended Prerequisite:
  • BCE 1000 Fundamentals of Cost Estimating

  • Any exams in this course must be passed with a minimum score of 80%.
