Analyzing Profit or Fee

***This is an online Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) course.***

Restrictions:

This course is restricted to DoD Acquisition Workforce (DAW) government civilian and military students only.

This Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) course is primarily self-paced with limited instructor availability. Determining profit or fee involves rewarding the contractor for performance and acceptance of risk. But what is a reasonable profit or fee for a given contract? Different individuals' perspectives may vary substantially on this question. That is why proper use of the structured approach required by the Federal Acquisition Regulation is so important. In this course, professionals will learn about this approach and the guidelines for developing a reasonable profit or fee position. In addition, participants will complete a series of simulations to guide them through the decisions required when filling out the DD Form 1547, Record of Weighted Guidelines Application. Emphasis is on critically thinking through risk and the rationale for selection decisions.

This course may be taken as a standalone course. It is also a component of the Advanced Proposal Analysis - Indirect Costs, Profit, and Documentation Credential although we recommend taking the Advanced Proposal Analysis - Direct Costs and Cost Modeling first.
