Restrictions:
This course is restricted to DoD Acquisition Workforce (DAW) government civilian and military students only.
This is a Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) course. Increasing consolidation in the A&D Industry is resulting in fewer traditional large publicly owned firms carrying the majority of the responsibility for supporting our nation’s national defense. Resulting trends include greater use of non-traditional firms (e.g., IT companies such as AWS, Alphabet, etc.) and privately owned firms (e.g., SpaceX/Swarm Technologies, MAG Aerospace, various PMCs (private military companies). This two-day course focuses on providing insights into privately owned firms, current or prospective, operating in support of our national defense needs. While the information provided by non-public firms, especially financial information, may be lacking in comparison to companies reporting to the Securities & Exchange Commission, a range of traditional and non-traditional approaches can be taken to understand the firms’ operations in ways that foster improved business deals for the government, both from a financial and an economically sustainable perspective.
