This Virtual-Instructor Led Training (VILT) course teaches you to plan for, integrate, and implement international acquisition programs within the Defense Acquisition System. It is designed to meet the needs of a variety DoD workforce members in various acquisition and security cooperation positions. The course covers international acquisition competencies through lessons and practical exercises presented in the context of the phases of a Major Capability Acquisition. Specific international program competencies addressed include International Cooperative Programs (ICPs), Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Direct Commercial Sales (DCS), Building Partnership Capacity (BPC) programs, Technology Security and Foreign Disclosure (TSFD), and Defense Exportability Integration. Upon completion of the course, you will possess the skills needed to effectively and efficiently plan, participate in, and manage a wide variety of international acquisition program activities that support national security and defense strategies, contribute to program affordability, and enhance coalition interoperability with allied/friendly nations.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Defense Acquisition Workforce and Security Cooperation Workforce members across a variety of functional areas who work on or engage with international acquisition programs within the Defense Acquisition System.

NOTES

Recommended Prerequisites (Not required for registration):
  • ACQ 1300 Fundamentals of Technology Security/Transfer
  • INT 1110 International Acquisition/Security Cooperation Foundation
Additional Information:
  • Virtual classes are conducted via MS Teams.
  • All times are in the local time zone of the DAU region assigned to teach the offering.
  • Students are required to test connectivity with DAU IT prior to the class start date.
  • DAU does not reimburse student phone/internet charges.
  • The CLPs assigned to this learning activity may be used to meet professional certification and/or licensure requirements (PDUs/CPE credits).
