This virtual instructor-led training (VILT) course teaches students to conceptualize, assess, plan, and execute the full spectrum of International Acquisition and Exportability (IA&E) activities to improve acquisition outcomes and contribute to DoD and U.S. Government security cooperation objectives. INT 3800 is designed to strengthen the student’s critical thinking and analytical skills through the use of practical exercises, case studies, and in-depth discussions based on real world IA&E scenarios. This class covers current law/ DoD policy relating to international acquisition, provides critical thinking methodologies for use in virtual classroom case studies, and covers ten specific topics:
- Program IA&E Assessments
- International Considerations in Developing a Program’s Acquisition Strategy
- International Business Planning
- Defense Exportability Integration
- Technology Security and Foreign Disclosure Considerations
- Foreign Military Sales Acquisition Best Practices

TARGET AUDIENCE
Leaders in the Acquisition Workforce (AWF) responsible for managerial and decision-making roles in international program aspects (foreign military sales, international cooperative programs, or similar) for functional areas including (but not limited to) program management, engineering/technical management, and contracting. Security Cooperation (SC) Workforce members are also encouraged to attend, as are any defense employees aiming for increased responsibility in these areas.OBJECTIVE

- INT 1300 Fundamentals of Technology Security/Transfer
- INT 2300V International Acquisition Planning
- This course consists of six 5-hour long virtual classroom sessions integrated with 14 hours self-paced asynchronous learning.
- This course requires students to identify an IA&E improvement project for their organization or program based on challenges encountered in their workplace before arriving at the classroom.
- Virtual classes are conducted via MS Teams.
- All times are in the local time zone of the DAU region assigned to teach the offering.
- Students are required to test connectivity with DAU IT prior to the class start date.
- DAU does not reimburse student phone/internet charges.
- The CLPs assigned to this learning activity may be used to meet professional certification and/or licensure requirements (PDUs/CPE credits).
