Intermediate Small Business Programs, Part B

***This is an online Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) course.***

Restrictions:

This course is restricted to DoD government civilian and military students only.

This Virtual Instructor-Led (VILT) course prepares Small Business Professionals to work effectively with acquisition teams throughout the acquisition lifecycle. Students demonstrate their comprehension of concepts introduced in Part A by completing a series of activities typical of what they will do on the job, including:

  • Devising a market research strategy
  • Developing a supported, justified acquisition strategy based on the market research
  • Contributing to solicitation documents and support developing evaluation criteria to maximize small business participation
  • Evaluating small business elements of a proposal
  • Reviewing subcontracting plans
  • Creating a post-award briefing

As a capstone to the course, students develop a small business acquisition strategy recommendation for presentation to the acquisition team.

PREDECESSOR COURSES

TARGET AUDIENCE

Experienced Small Business Professionals (SBP) pursing the SBP Credential (CSBP 001) and contracting professionals. SBP 1010 and SBP 2010 are highly recommended prior to taking SBP 2020V if learner has no or minimal experience in Small Business Program and/or Contracting functional areas.

POINTS WILL BE DETERMINED APPROXIMATELY 30 DAYS POST DEPLOYMENT.

Recommended Prerequisites:
  • SBP 1010 Introduction to Small Business Programs, Part A
  • SBP 2010 Intermediate Small Business Programs, Part A
Additional Information:
  • SBP 2020V is equivalent to SBP 102 and SBP 202, see defined eligible period on the Equivalency Listing.
  • If you’ve successfully completed both SBP 102 and SBP 202, you may receive credit for SBP 2020V by submitting a request for approval for completing an equivalency course through your component Acquisition Training Office.
  • For assistance with submitting a request for course credit through the equivalency program, please visit https://icatalog.dau.edu/appg.aspx.
  • All training participants will be required to complete pre-course reading and a pre-course graded assignment.
  • Virtual classes are conducted via MS Teams.
  • All times are in the local time zone of the DAU region assigned to teach the offering.
  • Students are required to test connectivity with DAU IT prior to the class start date.
  • DAU does not reimburse student phone/internet charges.
  • The CLPs assigned to this learning activity may be used to meet professional certification and/or licensure requirements (PDUs/CPE credits).
