Source Selection Authority (SSA) Workshop

This executive level workshop provides each attendee with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a Source Selection Authority (SSA). Through real world exercises, simulations, and lessons the learners will practice SSA responsibilities in a non-attribution environment.

Specific lessons cover:

  • Acquisition ethics
  • Selection approaches (Full Tradeoff, Lowest Price Technically Acceptable, Value Adjusted Total Evaluated Price)
  • Critical thinking
  • Evaluation factor development
  • Discussions vs clarifications
  • Competitive range determinations
  • Writing a source selection decision document
  • Debriefings
  • Records retention
  • Protests

Upon completion, participants can expect the following critical performance behaviors to result from this workshop:

  • Select appropriate source selection procedures for the acquisition that they are executing
  • Design a Source Selection Organization that is appropriate for executing their source selection
  • Determine if the proposed source selection evaluation factors and subfactors are appropriate for the acquisition
  • Write a sound Source Selection Decision Document (SSDD) substantiation their award decision

REQUIRED PREREQUISITES

It is recommended that attendees complete CLC 007 entitled Contract Source Selection, but not required.
