What is contract financing? Contract financing is the process of providing payments to contractors prior to acceptance of supplies or services by the government. Contract financing can take various forms, such as advance payments, progress payments, performance-based payments, and commercial item financing. Contract financing is intended to help contractors meet their cash flow needs and reduce their borrowing costs, while also protecting the government's interests and minimizing its risks.
What will you learn? This credential consists of three online courses that provide an overview of all contract financing concepts contained within FAR part 32, DFARS part 232, and DFARS PGI part 232. You will learn about the different types of contract financing, their advantages and disadvantages, their eligibility criteria, their application procedures, and their administration and oversight. You will also learn how to use various tools and techniques to evaluate contract financing plans, conduct risk assessments, and perform fair value tests.
