Product Support Affordability & Cost Fundamentals Credential

Effective Monday, October 7, this credential will undergo maintenance until Monday, October 21 and will not be open for new enrollment during that time.

The Credential brings together the learning assets associated with seven on-line training (OLT) courses, multiple DoD guidebooks and several DAU ACQuipedia articles to build a holistic view of the linkage between Product Support Management and the budget build process. A capstone exercise and summative examination must be completed to demonstrate the learner's ability to:

  • Define Operating & Support Cost KSA, one of the Life Cycle Sustainment Outcome Metrics, and how it is communicated in decision-making.
  • Explain Defense Working Capital Fund (DWCF) budgeting & analysis principles.
  • Identify characteristics to prepare and submit budget requests for product support activities across the system life cycle
  • Relate the Product Support Business Case Analysis to the budget process.
  • Differentiate between the use of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Total Ownership Cost (TOC).
  • Describe the role the PM/PSM has in the process for proper financial accounting treatment for military equipment (PFAT4ME).

Estimated time to complete this credential is 18 hours. Earn up to 20 Continuous Learning Points (CLPs). CLPs will be re-evaluated after the credential comes off maintenance.
