Defense Official Says Diverse Talent Pool Is Critical

The Defense Department’s Chief Information Officer John Sherman underscored the importance of building a diverse, capable workforce to meet the strategic challenges on the horizon. DoD College Acquisition Internship Program

The DoD College Acquisition Internship Program (DCAIP) provides a unique opportunity for college students pursuing relevant undergraduate degrees to gain real-world experience in various acquisition career fields within the DoD. The goal is to actively recruit college students and graduate students into the DoD Acquisition Workforce and compete with industry on campuses. 

The application period for DCAIP 2024 will open Sept. 13, 2023, and close Oct. 11, 2023 (see https://www.dcaipintern.com). Organizations within the military Services that are interested in hosting an intern should contact their Defense Acquisition Career Management/Defense Acquisition Talent Management office. AFRL, NASA Partner With Eight Universities for New Mission Concept Program

AIR FORCE MATERIEL COMMAND NEWS 
The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and NASA announced their collaboration with eight universities for a new Mission Concept Program from Jan. 5 to Feb. 3, 2024. The program, sponsored by AFRL’s Space Vehicles Directorate, is held under the University Nanosatellite Program, which started in 1999 and has collaborated with over 40 universities since its inception. It can refer to the platform from which rockets, missiles, and vehicles blast into the sky. Figuratively, it can also describe something that serves to boost a pursuit.
