Electromagnetic Spectrum Conflict in Space–Threats to C4ISR

An Electromagnetic (EM) Spectrum Conflict in Space–Threats to Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) webcast will be offered July 6 by the Association of Old Crows, an international nonprofit professional organization specializing in electronic warfare. The webinar will provide an overview to the space-based platforms that support C4ISR and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT), together with a range of EM Spectrum weapons that could cause denial or degradation of service to military and essential commercial users. The webinar will conclude with a discussion on preventative measures to mitigate the effectiveness of these weapons, and an overview to “kinetic kill satellites” currently employed by the Chinese and Russian governments. Fireside Chat With PEO for C3 and Battle Management

The Air and Space Forces Association will sponsor a Fireside Chat (webcast) on July 10 with Air Force Brig. Gen. Luke C. G. Cropsey, the Department of the Air Force Integrating Program Executive Officer for Command, Control, Communications and Battle Management. Cropsey ensures the integration of related programs throughout the Department of the Air Force as a core contribution to DoD’s broader Joint All-Domain Command and Control effort. Register here.

DoD Energy and Power Summit

The Fifth Annual DoD Energy and Power Summit will convene July 12–13 at The Sunset Room, National Harbor Marina, in Oxon Hill, Md. This event provides a forum for members of the DoD, military Services, federal government, industry, academia, and other relevant stakeholders to discuss how to improve the efficiency, resiliency, affordability, and sustainability of energy and power across the DoD for fixed installations and mobile environments. Participants will focus on delivering power in contested, denied environments at the point of need, in mobile environments, and across installations and infrastructures, at home and abroad. Sustainability and Energy Summit

The Sustainability and Energy Summit will be held July 13–14 at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York City. The summit theme will be “Thriving Amid the Global Transition.” Business leaders will attend from across industries, government leaders from the United States and elsewhere, and corporate executives across the finance, strategy, sustainability, human capital, legal, government relations, communications, marketing, and other functions. 2023 Air Force Summit

The 2023 Air Force Summit will be held July 18 at the Potomac Officers Club in Tysons Corner, Va. Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall will be the keynote speaker. Software, Zero Trust, cloud, long-range fires, and Joint All-Domain Command and Control will be at the forefront of the Air Force’s focus areas as the Service embraces new technologies and approaches in support of critical national security missions, both at home and abroad. 2023 JADC2: All-Domain Warfare Symposium

The 2023 Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) All-Domain Warfare Symposium will convene July 18–19 at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria, Va. The theme for the 2023 symposium will be “Aligning JADC2 Capabilities: Pivoting from Service Programs to Joint Capability.” The key objective of the symposium is to better understand how the JADC2 construct will shape future warfare and become the linchpin of this construct to speed military decision making over that of adversaries. Multi-domain Operations in an Extended Range Environment Workshop

The Multi-domain Operations in an Extended Range Environment Workshop will convene July 18–20 at the Ventura Beach Marriott in Ventura, Calif. Guest speakers will include James Amato, executive technical director/deputy to the commander, U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, and Eileen Bjorkman, executive director, Air Force Test Center. The workshop will focus on the need for the test and evaluation community to be better and faster at getting weapon systems products to Warfighters and decision makers. Register here.

2023 CBRN Defense Conference and Exhibition

The National Defense Industrial Association will host the 2023 Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Conference July 24–26 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Md. The theme for the 2023 conference will be “Biodefense and Pandemic Preparedness in an Era of Persistent Conflict.” The goal of this conference is to provide a venue to promote education, awareness, and collaboration across the CBRN community to foster innovation and rapid development of CBRN capabilities. Department of the Navy Gold Coast

The National Defense Industrial Association will convene the 35th Annual Department of the Navy Gold Coast Small Business Procurement Event from July 26–28 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif. The 2023 event is the premier Navy procurement conference in the nation. Gold Coast provides a forum to educate, guide, and assist businesses, large and small, in support of the Warfighter mission within the Department of the Navy and throughout the DoD. Register here.

Space and Missile Defense Symposium

The Space and Missile Defense (SMD) Symposium will be held Aug. 8–10 at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Ala. The theme for the symposium will be “Space and Integrated Air, Missile Defense: Meeting the Global Challenge.” The SMD Symposium is the leading education, professional development, and networking event in the SMD community. It brings together the top government and industry leaders in SMD in one event, where participants will hear directly from senior leaders in government and defense industry. Register here. 

Concurrently, the Missile Defense Agency Wargames and Exercises directorate will offer the SMD Symposium Interactive Wargame 2023, Aug. 8–10, also at the Von Braun Center. The Wargame is an unclassified interactive simulation based on a notional representation of the 2030 Ballistic Missile Defense System. Fourteen sessions lasting 50 minutes each will be offered, accommodating 15 players. Ground Vehicle Systems Engineering and Technology Symposium

The 15th Ground Vehicle Systems Engineering and Technology Symposium (GVSETS) and Modernization Update will convene Aug. 15–17 at Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Mich. The theme for the 2023 GVSETS will be “Tactical Wheeled Vehicles, Systems Engineering.” Scientists and engineers from government, academia, and industry will attend and personally network and share technical research with approximately 1,800 colleagues. Space Warfighting Forum (SWF)

The 2023 4th Annual Space Warfighting Forum (SWF) will be offered Aug. 16–18 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo. Bringing together leaders from industry, government, and academia, SWF 2023 promises to further the discussion on space warfighting visions, requirements, and existing and emerging capabilities. Attendees will hear from top U.S. Space Command and U.S. Space Force leadership in both unclassified and classified forums, as well as from entrepreneurs and thought leaders on partnerships, coalitions and international engagement, new technologies, pushing data to the tactical edge, and legislative actions. ERI 2.0 Summit

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) will host the Electronics Resurgence Initiative (ERI) Summit Aug. 22–24, at the Hyatt Regency Seattle in Seattle, Wash. The 2023 summit will convene top experts in microelectronics and semiconductors for crucial conversations and a robust showcase. “Reinventing Domestic Microelectronics Manufacturing” is the summit theme, guiding timely and consequential community-wide discussion around the future of U.S. microelectronics, including research and development. DARPA’s Microsystems Technology Office will host leaders from government, industry, and academia to explore pressing issues and noteworthy advances in microelectronics innovation. Register here.

Emerging Technologies for Defense Conference and Exhibition

The Emerging Technologies for Defense Conference and Exhibition will be held Aug. 28–30 at the JW Marriott in Washington, D.C. The theme for the 2023 Conference will be “Delivering New Capabilities to the Warfighter at Speed and Scale.” Attendees will explore and learn about the new emerging technologies that will shape national security for the next century. The conference programming will focus on several of the DoD’s highest priority joint mission areas and highlight emerging technologies that are shaping the future of national defense.
