The session aims to give both generalists and technical specialists insights into how cloud costs are calculated and controlled.

Speakers
Art Nicewick
Learning Asset Manager, DAUMr. Nicewick has over 30 years of experience in project management, software development, database technologies, performance tuning, and simulations. Mr. Nicewick was an executive director for American Management Systems (later purchased by CGI Federal) and also served in the Federal Government as the Data Manager for the National Gallery of Art. Mr. Nicewick also co-founded the company SalusSec, which developed automated compliance testing scripts for federal protection profiles. He holds numerous cloud, management, and security certifications, including an associate certification from Amazon Web Services and a Data Science Certification from Microsoft Azure, as well as a PMP certification in project management and certifications in Scaled Agile Development (SAFe), Ethical Hacking, and Data Management. Currently, Mr. Nicewick is the learning asset manager for cloud computing coursework at DAU, where he both teaches Cloud courses and is in the process of creating a new version of the "DAU Cloud Acquisition Guide".
