    Speaker: Lt Col Robert Larkin, USAF

    Description:

    Hangar 18 is an organic software factory for the Air Force. It was born from a need to create an Agile approach to help the Air and Space Force communities in efficiency and deliverables in a cost-effective way. Hangar 18 prides themselves on understanding needs and moving projects forward at warp speed.  

    Avolve was developed by Hangar 18 using a continuous integration and continuous delivery (CICD) model with two-week sprints and multiple stakeholders. The code is 100% government created/owned and hosted on Platform One. It's a content sharing platform and anyone behind a secure CAC authenticated firewall can contribute knowledge.  It takes the idea of community of practice to a new level!

    Come join Lt Col Robert Larkin as he shares best practices and lessons learned on their Agile journey with Avolve and takes questions from the audience.

    Biography: 

    Lt Col Robert "Spaz Larkin, Program Manager, Innovative Solutions Team

    Lt Col Robert D. Larkin is currently an Instructor & Deputy Director in the USAF's Cyberspace Technical Center of Excellence (AF CyTCoE) at AFIT. His duties include oversight of a $5M portfolio consisting of AFIT's innovation activities in cyber education and research, is the course director for AFIT's ROTC Immersive Cyber Education (ICE) four-week summer program, leading its agile Avolve software development team, rapid cyber curriculum development team, and AF CyTCoE's Cyber Defense Network (CDN) team who performs O&M of its $1M network providing a mission critical resource to the whole-of-AFIT and its Schools. Rob also serves as the Chief of Operations in the AFIT/AFRL Hangar 18 Software factory. Prior to AF CyTCoE, Rob has worked in Joint, Center, and Squadron levels engaged in offensive, defensive, and DOD information network (DODIN) operations.
