Description:
Due to the proliferation of intellectual property that has resulted in the loss of trillions of dollars, the Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal Agencies is focusing its attention concerning the safeguard of sensitive but unclassified information that resides on industry's networks and systems.
This webcast is designed to discuss the migration from current security requirements per NIST SP 800-171 to the new CMMC process. This will also provide acquisition workforce members and industry a forum to discuss the challenges and issues concerning the implementation and execution of DFARS Clause 252.204-7012 on current and future procurements and the migration to the CMMC process.
This is the first of five webcast(s). The remaining webcast(s) will discuss CMMC Level Selection (I, III, and III+), CMMC RFI /RFP Implementation, CMMC AB Roles & Responsibility /Certification Process, and DFARS /CMMC Limited Dissemination Control (LDC)/ CUI Export Information.

Christopher Newborn, a member of Department of Defense's (DoD) Acquisition and Cybersecurity Workforce, was appointed as a Professor of Information Technology (Cybersecurity Emphasis) at the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) in August 2015. Mr. Newborn duties include developing curriculum, teaching, and consulting members of the Acquisition and Cybersecurity Workforce who are responsible for acquiring, deploying, and maintaining cybersecurity capabilities and defending DoD's networks, systems, and data.
