Description: During this 90-minute session, you'll learn how AbilityOne can support your Market Research efforts for recompetes and new requirements and the roles and responsibilities of those involved in a Procurement List Addition (adding a product or service requirement to the AbilityOne Program), in accordance with FAR Subpart 8.7. By contracting with AbilityOne companies, you are not only fulfilling mission requirements, you are creating and sustaining jobs for veterans and individuals who are blind or who have significant disabilities.
Carla Goulart is the Senior Director, Strategic Business Development. In this role she is the POC for SourceAmerica for all AbilityOne Representatives (ABORS) in partnership with the AbilityOne Commission and NIB to support the 24 CFO Act Agencies as they work to meet their pledges to the AbilityOne Program. Carla is also responsible for the development of new strategies, including the development of new lines of business that will drive growth in the AbilityOne Program. Carla been with SourceAmerica for over 8 years, prior experience includes working at multiple marketing and advertising firms. Her last employment position, prior to SourceAmerica, was at an organization called Sentinels of Freedom which has a 4-year program to support severely wounded members of the Armed Forces.
Matthew Buchanan works for the National Industries for the Blind (NIB), as part of the AbilityOne Program. His role on the Business Development Team encompasses being the lead AbilityOne Representative (ABOR) specialist for NIB. After graduating from Framingham State College, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Matt held the position of Contracting Officer for the Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division (ACC-APG-Natick). In that role, he was responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars worth of contracts, ranging from the development and production of COVID Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) masks, to the rollout of the new Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU). During his time as a civilian with the Army, Matt frequently utilized the AbilityOne Program to successfully deliver quality garments, on time and at a reasonable price. While at NIB, Matt works directly with Federal appointed ABORs, alongside NIB non-profit agencies, to increase knowledge, and usage of the AbilityOne Program.
