Randy Pilling, Center Director for Acquisition and Program Management, DAU

Mr. T. R. “Randy” Pilling is the Center Director for Acquisition and Program Management at the Defense Acquisition University. He leads the development, maintenance, and revision of learning assets for the DoD acquisition workforce. With extensive experience and expertise, he frequently engages with senior DoD and defense industry stakeholders, leaders, and offices to shape policy and procedures related to Acquisition Management, Program Management, Services Acquisition, Earned Value Management, Intellectual Property, Software Acquisition, and Acquisition-Intelligence.

Before DAU, Mr. Pilling held key leadership roles at Boeing, Textron Systems, and Bell Helicopter Textron, overseeing V-22 Osprey sustainment, AC-130 Gunship support, Unmanned Aircraft Systems, and helicopter logistics and sustainment programs.

Mr. Pilling retired from a distinguished 25-year career in the U.S. Air Force, having made significant contributions to various aircraft and programs, including the VS-22 Osprey, F-16 Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, F-4G Phantom, F-22 Raptor, F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, and nuclear weapons.
