--James “Hondo” Geurts currently serves on several corporate boards and as distinguished fellow with various think tanks, after his retirement from performing the duties of the Under Secretary of the Navy – the Department’s number-two civilian.
Geurts previously served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development & Acquisition, overseeing an annual budget of over $100 billion and equipping and supporting Sailors and Marines as they operate around the globe in defense of the United States. He has over 30 years of extensive joint acquisition experience and served in all levels of acquisition leadership positions including Acquisition Executive, Program Executive Officer and Program Manager of Major Defense Acquisition Programs.Jim Woolsey, DAU President
--Jim Woolsey currently serves as the President of Defense Acquisition University (DAU), a position he has held since January 2014.
In this role, Mr. Woolsey leads one of the largest corporate universities in the world—responsible for the training and talent development of roughly 186,000 Department of Defense (DoD) employees. DAU’s students represent a cross-section of the Department’s Acquisition functions, including contracting, business, engineering, logistics, and program management. For the past several years, Mr. Woolsey has led DAU’s transformation to a modern learning platform that employs the full range of training modes and that empowers the workforce to tailor learning to their current job needs and future career goals.
