The value of test and evaluation (T&E) is in creating knowledge or information on unit, subsystem, or system capabilities and limitations. This information is useful in informing decisions or knowledge points associated with developing, producing, or operating new or updated capabilities. The Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E) Assessment and DT&E Sufficiency Assessment are products developed to convey this information or knowledge, to inform key decisions made by senior DoD Acquisition Executives on major defense acquisition programs. In this webcast, we provide a short background on the statutory and regulatory requirement for assessments, their general structure and content, and some guidance given to action officers assigned to create an assessment. The end goal of this webcast is for the audience to understand the purpose, scope, and content of the DT&E Assessment and DT&E Sufficiency Assessment.
