    Description:

    Following close on the heels of the publication of DoDI 5000.91, "Product Support Management for the Adaptive Acquisition Framework," OSD has developed a substantially revised Product Support Manager (PSM) Guidebook.  Updates reflect changes to statute, policy, and emerging topics such as digital engineering, intellectual property, environment, safety, and occupational health, and operational energy.  In this webcast hosted by Ms. Lisa P. Smith, panelists Mr. Anthony Lee, Mr. Chris DeLuca, Ms. Rosemary Solomon, and Mr. David Asiello wiII share highlights of the new guidebook and answer questions from the acquisition work force.

    Ms. Lisa P. Smith, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, OSD

    Ms. Smith, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Product Support and serves as the principal advisor to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) leadership on policies, procedures, and actions related to the readiness and sustainability of major weapon systems. She is responsible for the development and implementation of acquisition and sustainment strategies and processes providing the Warfighter with cost-effective weapon system readiness across the life cycle. In addition, Ms. Smith coordinates and synchronizes ASD(S) international and partner engagements. She also manages the logistics and acquisition workforce for the Department of Defense.  She assumed her current position in April 2021. 



    Mr. Anthony D. Lee II, Director of Product Support Policy and Army systems, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Product Support)

    Mr. Lee is the Director of Policy and serves as advisor to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Product Support). He is responsible for the development and implementation of policy, processes, and guidance that foster efficient and effective product support planning and execution across the Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise. He assumed his current position in July 2021.


    Mr. Chris DeLuca, Director, Specialty Engineering, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering  

    Mr. DeLuca serves as the Director, Specialty Engineering in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering.  He is responsible for DoD enterprise level engineering policy, guidance, standards and workforce development for: reliability and maintainability; manufacturing and quality; human systems integration; system safety; and, value engineering.



    Ms. Rosemary Solomon, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment  

    Ms. Solomon serves as the Sustainment and Technical Data Management Lead for the Deputy Director for Intellectual Property (IP) Cadre, in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment.  She is responsible for coordinating DoD-wide policy and guidance on product support and sustainment data-driven analyses required to tailor IP and technical data requirements to the unique characteristics of the program's acquisition and product support strategies.  


    Mr. David J. Asiello, Director, Sustainability and Acquisition, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Energy, Installations & Environment) 

    Mr. Asiello is the Director for Sustainability & Environment and currently provides technical and policy support to the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Energy, Installations & Environment) and the Deputy ASD for Environment & Energy Resilience.  His areas of responsibility include DoD Environmental Technology Programs; Strategic Sustainability Planning; Integrating Sustainable Procurement Policy and maximizing the use of Sustainable Technologies at DoD Installations; Chemical Management; and integrating Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health considerations into Weapon Systems Acquisition Programs.
