With over 95 locations throughout the country, APEX Accelerators is committed to driving innovation and propelling small businesses to new heights. The Accelerators serve as the axis for existing and new businesses to strengthen the defense industrial base. The result is the creation of a domestic industrial base that can deliver preeminent solutions to the military and other government users.

    DAU is pleased to host leaders from the San Diego, Orange, Imperial APEX Accelerator, formerly known as Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), and APEX Accelerator from the office OUSD A&S, Assistant Secretary of Defense (Acquisition). 

    Come join us to hear Mr. Derrick Davis, Mr. Khalil Mack, and Mr. Mike Sabellico discuss the resources available to small business related to navigating the cyber and digital compliance requirements of FAR and DFARs. Learn how the APEX Accelerators assist small business and how your government buying activity can leverage their capabilities.

    Derrick Davis

    Derrick T. Davis

    Derrick T. Davis is currently the Director for Industrial Cyber Security for the Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP).  He directly oversees several programs in support of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), including Project Spectrum cybersecurity outreach initiative. Mr. Davis provides strategic leadership for several teams of communications, cybersecurity, and program-support professionals. He utilizes his extensive experience with cyber security and policy strategy to direct Department Cyber Security readiness.

    Khalil Mack

    Khalil Mack

    Khalil Mack currently serves as the Director of the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP), and Apex Accelerators, for the Director of the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP).  Prior to joining the DoD OSBP, Mr. Mack served as Branch Chief for the Rapid Prototyping Acquisition Branch at the Washington Headquarters Services Acquisition Directorate, where he planned and executed non-FAR based acquisitions, including Other Transactions, for several customers within the Department of Defense. Previous to his tenure at Washington Headquarters Services, Mr. Mack served in various contracting roles for the Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). Prior to becoming a federal civilian, Mr. Mack was a consultant, specializing in acquisition and finance, for several federal agencies including the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

    Mike Sabellico

    Mike Sabellico

    Mike Sabellico is the Regional Director of the San Diego, Orange, Imperial APEX Accelerator.  He is a versatile executive management professional and has over 30 years of diverse work experience in leading programs, managing multi-million-dollar budgets and assets, and improving quality and processes. He is a twenty-year Veteran of the US Coast Guard with several Command Cadre tours. After leaving the Coast Guard, he managed a robust business development program for a San Diego-based defense contractor with offices throughout the US.  In 2010 he launched Vanguard Global Solutions, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business specializing in Homeland Security, Emergency Preparedness, and specialized business consulting. His government contracting experience in multiple industries provides an exceptional understanding and knowledge base into the challenges faced by small business owners entering government contracting.
