Series Description:
High Reliability Organizations have key behavioral attributes that permeate every level of the workforce to bring efficiency, tenacity, focus amidst disruption, and mission accomplishment with agility and speed. How do we apply these principles to our ever evolving and increasingly intelligent and fused work force within which we increasingly rely on smart machines to execute our missions?
Over three DAU Web Events, Dr. Karin Warner, Visiting Professor at DAU, will discuss these topics and together with the audience apply the concepts to our work.

Dr. Karin Warner (CAPT, USN, ret.) Visiting Professor, DAU
Dr. Karin Warner (CAPT, USN, ret.) Is a Visiting Professor at DAU, is a full professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing in the Department of Nurse Anesthesia, with a secondary appointment at the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. Dr. Warner served 34 years in the United States Navy in numerous clinical and leadership positions and earned a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) from Duke University, a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the U.S. National War College with a concentration in weapons of mass destruction (WMD), a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, dual Master of Science Degrees in Medical-Surgical Nursing and Nursing Health Policy as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Maryland. She has an advanced certificate in health and public policy and completed a two-year legislative Fellowship on Capitol Hill. She is a senior member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and in addition to teaching at Pitt, leads Diplomacy Lab student research groups in partnership with the U.S. State Department.
