Immersive Commercial Acquisition Program Graduation

  • Please join us for the Immersive Commercial Acquisition Program (ICAP) Graduation. This event will celebrate the cohort that has just completed the joint DAU/DIU program, and we'll welcome the new cohort. If you plan to attend this event in person and have not provided an R.S.V.P. to the e-invitation, email [email protected] for guidance.

    Following the graduation, there will be a short intermission then DAU President Jim Woolsey will host an On Acquisition episode from the same stage in Howell Auditorium featuring DIU Director Doug Beck beginning at 2 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Pacific).  To attend On Acquisition, please register and submit any questions you have for the speakers. You will receive a confirmation email with the link to join the session.

    Doug Beck

    Director of the Defense Innovation Unit

    Doug Beck is the Director of the Defense Innovation Unit, reporting directly to the Secretary of Defense. In this role, Beck oversees efforts to accelerate the Department's adoption of commercial technology throughout the military while acting as senior advisor on technology innovation, competition, and strategic impact. Beck was previously the Vice President at Apple, reporting directly to its CEO, Tim Cook; Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer at Charles Schwab; and Partner at McKinsey & Company. Beck is currently a Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve and has served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and throughout the Asia Pacific region, totaling more than 26 years of service.

    President of the Defense Acquisition University

    Mr. Woolsey is President of the Defense Acquisition University (DAU), a position he has held since January 2014. In that role, he is responsible for delivery of learning products through the DAU regions, the Defense Systems Management College, and the College of Contract Management; curriculum development; online learning programs; learning technology; and library services for a major Department of Defense corporate university. DAU, strategically located within five geographical regions across the country and servicing a global workforce, provides practitioner training, career management, and services to enable the acquisition, technology, and logistics community to make smart business decisions and deliver timely and affordable capabilities to the Warfighter.
