The Integrated Decision Support Key (IDSK) for Test Planning

@ 1:00 PM
  •

Attend: Test and Evaluation personnel at all levels, including government and military members.

Topic: The Integrated Decision Support Key (IDSK) provides a framework for articulating cradle to grave acquisition lifecycle decision making, informed by operational and technical capabilities’ evaluation, drawing data from the full test continuum of early contractor testing through full-up system of system operational test and/or modeling and simulation.  The IDSK is directed in DoDI 5000.89 for acquisition programs of record (PoR).  The IDSK concept is expanded to an agile, scalable evaluation framework for application outside the PoR acquisition cycle to inform the full continuum decisions involved with science and technology (S&T) – prototyping and experimentation (P&E) – capability portfolio management (CPM) efforts.   This webinar discusses the IDSK it’s expansion across a broader decision space with the agile, scalable evaluation framework concept and illustrates examples of its use.

    Moderator:
Dr. Michael Flynn, DAU Professor of Test and Evaluation

    Speakers

    Dr. Suzanne Beers, MITRE

Dr. Suzanne Beers is MITRE’s Defense Systems Engineering Department Manager, leading personnel and portfolio management of six OSD-level test and evaluation (T&E), systems engineering and strategic analysis projects.  In addition to her Department Manager responsibilities, Suzanne is the Technical Lead for OSD/DTE&A’s Integrated Decision Support Key initiative.  This work - that she will be briefing you on today - includes evolving the IDSK concept from separate developmental and operational evaluation frameworks and applying it to both acquisition programs of record and full-spectrum (S&T to sustainment – especially to prototyping and experimentation) decision-support informed by operational and technical capability evaluation.
