    Speaker: Mr. Thomas Morton, Chief Digital, and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO)

    Description:  The Department of Defense's Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) is the senior official responsible for the acceleration of the DoD's adoption of data, analytics, and AI to generate decision advantage from the boardroom to the battlefield.  The CDAO is building a strong foundation for AI-enabled capabilities to be developed and fielded at scale. Part of this foundation is ensuring the Department has the necessary people, platforms, and processes needed to continuously provide business leaders and warfighters with agile solutions. Come hear how Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ops and DevSecOps are being paired together to produce an end-to-end AI/Machine Learning (ML) "workbench" in-a-box capability and how CDAO is using a tailorable and portable suite of commercial, open source, and GOTS AI/ML tools to produce software applications with AI-enabled capabilities

    Come join us to learn about the power of combining AI/ML with a software factory to produce AI-enabled mission application and how CDAO is here to help programs enhance mission applications with AIOps-DevSecOps.


    Biography:  Mr. Tom Morton's career spans over 45 years in information technology working in the DoD and notable Silicon Valley companies such as Apple and BEA Systems. He is currently responsible for automating the integration of the applications used within CDAO's Advana platform as well as the PM for Advana-Edge. During his tenure within the DoD, Mr. Morton has held technical leadership positions in projects such as Forge.mil and the JAIC's Joint Common Foundation, as well as policy development for Cloud, Open Source Software, and DevSecOps.

    Mr. Morton holds a bachelor's degrees in Economics and Computer Science from Southern Methodist University and a master's degree in Computer Science from Georgetown University and is a veteran having served in the United States Air Force.
