    Who Should Attend:  Government, Military, and Industry at all levels who want to learn about the tenets and principles of contracting for digital and cybersecurity efforts to promote change and collaboration within DoD programs and projects

    Speaker:  Mr. Ernie Edmonds

    Description:  Shared Responsibility is essential to our national security, and our U.S.

    technological advantage. This talk will illuminate factors in shared responsibility for small defense suppliers throughout the defense industry, also involving Cloud Computing services, DFARS 252.239-7010 Cloud Computing Services was discussed during the webinar's kick-off event in June 2023.  Mr. Edmonds will elaborate on how security is achieved in projects like Cloud services instantiation (such as DoD Teams) and will illustrate how 'just because you included the clause doesn't mean security is occurring!'

     

    Note:  This event is specially tailored for Contracting professionals; Contracting Officer's Representatives; Program Office Acquisition Professionals.


     

    Biography:   Mr. Edmonds has over 29 years in the Information Assurance field, with (mis)adventures tracing back to the late 1970s. His professional experience includes the design and implementation of large scale IP(4/6) carrier grade networks, and holistic security solutions dealing with networks spanning multiple continents, site counts in the tens of thousands, and endpoint counts in the millions.  Mr. Edmonds' range of experience with network technologies includes corporate, local and wide area networks, Zero Trust, PKI including CP and CPS development, co-location/Cloud and enterprise remote access.

    Ernie is a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator/Engineer (MCSA/MCSE), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), ForeScout certified, and others. He has successfully led some of the largest infrastructure and cloud datacenter deployments in the world as Technical & Product Leads. Successful compliance programs include acting in the roles of Primary Certifier (NIST based C&A) and Senior Information Assurance Architect, Policy and Technical Standards Developer, and Cyber Security SME.
