William “Bill” Kobren serves as Director, Logistics and Sustainment Center, at the Defense Acquisition University. He is responsible for development and currency of an integrated portfolio of life cycle logistics and product support learning assets at the University, including 62 training courses, 18 Defense Acquisition Credentials, and a host of web-based job support tools, communities of practice and related workflow learning resources. Besides curricula development, defense acquisition workforce professional development, and knowledge sharing, he and his team also provide extensive mission assistance to the

Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Military Components and Defense Agencies in the areas of logistics and product support policy, as well as life cycle logistics workforce human capital development. Bill has authored nearly three dozen published articles, spoken at a myriad of conferences, symposiums, and workshops; and his DAU Logistics Director’s Blog is the most widely read of any Defense acquisition functional community.
