    Dr. Jason Hamilton

    Director, Logistics and Sustainment Center DAU

    Dr. Jason Hamilton joined the DAU faculty in October 2015 through October 2020 as a Professor of IT with a Software Sustainment and Sustainment Engineering focus. In this capacity, Jason created curriculum and taught several courses. In October 2020, Jason was selected as the Director, Acquisition Logistics and Product Support at MCSC, serving as the senior Acquisition Logistician in the Marine Corps until October 2022. Jason recently returned to DAU as a Logistics Professor and works as an Adjunct professor for George Mason University teaching Supply Chain Management and Public Sector Operations

    Jason Hamilton was raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. In 1989, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve to serve as an Air Control Electronics Operator. Upon his graduation from Colorado State University in 1994 he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant and served as an Air Defense Control Officer. In 2003, while deployed to the Middle East, Captain Hamilton was selected to attend Naval Postgraduate School, where he received an MBA in 2004. Upon his assignment to Marine Corps Systems Command in January 2005, Major Hamilton was assigned as a Project Officer for the Combat Operations Center (COC) an ACAT III C2 program.

    Office of the ASN (RD&A) Director, Acquisition Talent Management (DATM)

    Ms. Jacobs is serving in her second tour at the Pentagon as a DATM Action Officer. The DATM office oversees workforce development and training requirements set forth in the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). As an Action Officer, Ms. Jacobs develops and implements acquisition workforce policies and associated career development training guidance more than fifty-thousand civilian and military professionals across the Department of the Navy.

    Ms. Jacobs began her association with the DATM office in 2003 as a contractor program assistant to digitize the career field certification process and improve the integration of acquisition workforce records from DATM business systems to civilian and military personnel systems. During the next two years, Ms. Jacobs was selected to coordinate similar projects related to acquisition professional membership, continuous learning, and the DON Acquisition Workforce Tuition Assistance Program (AWTAP). In 2005, Ms. Jacobs earned a promotion to Team Lead. She hired, trained, and developed a cross-functional system and customer support team that aligned to the DATM’s mission.

    Associate Director of the Acquisition Human Capital Initiatives, DAU

    Ms. Michelle Trigg, the Associate Director of the Acquisition Human Capital Initiatives office, which aligns under DAU and in turn OUSD/A&S. The HCI team is responsible for the operation of the Defense Acquisition Workforce Education, Training, Experience, and Professional Development Program. Which implements the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act requirements (what we all know as DAWIA). They manage the policy, governance, strategic planning, development account, AcqDemo, awards and measures for the roughly 160,000 DoD acquisition workforce. Michelle joined HCI in December 2022 after serving 16 years as the Deputy Director of Acquisition Career Management for the Department of the Air Force.
