Ms. Lisa P. Smith, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Product Support and serves as the principal advisor to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) leadership on policies, procedures, and actions related to the readiness and sustainability of major weapon systems. She is responsible for the development and implementation of acquisition and sustainment strategies and processes providing the Warfighter with cost-effective weapon system readiness across the life cycle. In addition, Ms. Smith coordinates and synchronizes ASD(S) international and partner engagements. She also manages the logistics and acquisition workforce for the Department of Defense.  She assumed her current position in April 2021.

Mr. Steven Morani, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment, OSD

Steven J. Morani, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Principal  Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment.  In this capacity he serves as the principal advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment in the oversight of logistics policies, procedures, resourcing and effectiveness to provide the required materiel readiness to support the war fighter.  His logistics portfolio includes maintenance, supply, distribution, international logistics, weapon system product support, and logistics workforce development.  He assumed his current position in October 2020. 

Mr. Tony Baity, SES, Director of Resource Integration, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Engineering, and Force Protection, U.S. Air Force

Anthony R. Baity, a member of the Senior Executive Service, serves as the Director of Resource Integration, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Engineering, and Force Protection, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Arlington, Virginia. He is responsible for the planning, programming and budgeting of weapons systems sustainment, equipment and logistics, and installation resource requirements. As part of the Air Force corporate structure, Mr. Baity monitors performance of operations and maintenance, working capital funds and investment programs, participates in program and financial review groups, and advocates for financial adjustments to optimize force readiness. He oversees preparation and defense of these Air Force programs for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Office of Management and Budget, and Congress.

Mr. Rick Marsh, Director, Maintenance Programs & Policy, HQDA G-4

Mr. Rick Marsh joined the Army G-4 staff as Director, Maintenance Programs & Policy in August 2021.  In this role, Mr. Marsh is responsible for developing sustainment and field-level maintenance policy and overseeing programs associated with weapon system and equipment maintenance and the Army's Organic Industrial Base.  Mr. Marsh also serves as the Functional Chief Representative for Civilians assigned to the Maintenance career field.  Prior to this assignment, Mr. Marsh served as Director of the Defense Personal Property Management Office and as Deputy J5/4 at U.S. Transportation Command.

Ms. Leigh Method, SES, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics, OSD

Leigh E. Method, a member of the Senior Executive Service, is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics and serves as the principal advisor to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment. In this position, she is responsible for the Department’s logistics strategy and policy, supply, storage and distribution, property and equipment, transportation, and program support. Her portfolio includes oversight of $100 billion of inventory and inventory management practices, $2 billion in airlift and transportation programs as well as direction for operational contract support, non-tactical vehicles, equipment and materiel management policies. She assumed her current position in April 2020.
