DAU hosts the virtual Contract Closeout Limited Series once a month. These live virtual sessions are intended to give anyone in the acquisition community with contract closeout responsibility a place to listen to topical presentations, ask questions and share ideas. This platform connects people within this community to ideas, resources, tools and other valuable information.  It is a place where contracting and OCS professionals can connect with each other, ask questions, and leverage collective knowledge.  Guest speakers will present different topics each month for six months starting July of 2023.  You can find the link on the DAU Events page listed above.

    Jay Olson

Mr. Jay Olson is currently Deputy Director, Contracting eBusiness Directorate in Defense Pricing and Contracting, Office of the Undersecretary of Defense (Acquisition and Sustainment), Pentagon, Arlington, VA. In this capacity, Mr. Olson assists the Director in ensuring contracting functional processes, policies, and data requirements are incorporated into DoD-wide procurement-related business initiatives and systems. Mr. Olson works with DoD Components to develop and publish policies and standards, including the Procurement Data Standard, in support of the Procure-to-Pay end-to-end procurement environment.

Mr. Olson previously served as the top contracting e-business leader for the US Air Force and Space Force as Chief, Contracting Business Systems Division, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary (Contracting). In this role, he served as the DoDi 5000.75 functional customer for CON-IT, a modern, 21st century contract writing system. While developing CON-IT, Mr. Olson concurrently constructed and led teams to create processes, data translation maps, and automation software to facilitate and lead the first-ever legacy ConWrite system data migrations to CON-IT. As the Department of the Air Force's (DAF) e-business expert, Mr. Olson chaired the DAF Contracting Modernization Board and served among his component lead peers and Defense Contracting and Pricing to steer e-business and data quality initiatives to improve business processes and decision-making for the Department of the Air Force and the Department of Defense.

Before his time at the Pentagon, Mr. Olson served as the e-business lead and Modernization Board member for the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, responsible for over $45B of DAF's $78B annual spend and many of the most complex weapon system programs within the Department of Defense. As chief of the largest of 20 global ConWrite and AFLCMC Contracting staff information technology support offices, he led over 1,000 professionals through working from home during COVID-19; he managed multiple crises plaguing the aging ConWrite system; and he ushered the first limited deployment from ConWrite to the next-generation system—a feat over 20 years in the making!

Before becoming a leader in Contracting e-Business, Mr. Olson was a Procuring Contracting Officer and team lead/supervisor within some of the Air Force's largest ACAT ID program offices, including Global Hawk, Predator/Reaper, and KC-46. His major weapon systems experience spans the entire acquisition lifecycle, from engineering and manufacturing development to production to sustainment.

    David Guinasso

Mr. Guinasso has over 40 years of experience in acquisition focusing on contract administration and oversight, and electronic commerce.  He has been a pioneer in the development of acquisition business systems and policy.  For the last decade he has supported OSD A&S DPC in Government Furnished Property and implementation of the Procure to Pay architecture.  His innovation and expertise have earned him the Office of the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Service, Department of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Award and Secretary of Defense Superior Management Award
