Fred Schlich has over 35 years of experience in Federal contract and program management. He is a retired Air Force officer, worked a number of years in industry, and has been a Federal civilian employee for the last decade. Throughout his career, he served as a commander, director, and division chief, and is currently a Professor of Contract Management at the Defense Acquisition University. In these capacities, he supported the military services, the Defense Contract Management Agency, the Missile Defense Agency, components of the intelligence community, and multiple civilian agencies. During his career, he supervised over 1,000 employees.

Fred holds the Program Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Program Management Institute, is a National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Certified Professional Contract Manager and carries the distinction of being an NCMA fellow.   Fred was certified DAWIA Level III in Contracting and Program Management.  He has professional certifications in Critical Thinking and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Cornel University. He holds a DAU Credential in Agile.

Fred has advanced degrees from Auburn University and Biola University.
