Who Should Attend: Government, Military, and Industry at all levels who want to learn about the principles of zero trust and its role in innovative cybersecurity solutions.
Speaker: Mr. Ernie Edmonds
Description: Zero Trust (ZT) is the foundation of a DoD security transformation to counter major cybersecurity threats. While the DoD is starting a significant journey for Zero Trust (ZT), Industry has been doing ZT for years. This month's speaker, Mr. Ernie Edmonds, has experience implementing ZT capabilities at various prominent banks and other industries. Additionally, he was a significant factor in the design of core cybersecurity reference architectures at DHS. Mr. Edmonds will share key insights on ZT principles, fundamental components, capabilities, and design patterns to address threats that exist both inside and outside networks. ZT capabilities and activities need to address core security engineering and security architecture concepts to maximize their potential effectiveness.
Come join us to learn about these security engineering and architecture constructs affect your DoD and DIB ZT implementation plans. Mr. Edmonds' insights could assist DoD and Defense Industrial Base (DIB) contractor efforts in their ZT implementation.
Biography: Mr. Edmonds has over 29 years in the Information Assurance field, with (mis)adventures tracing back to the late 1970s. His professional experience includes the design and implementation of large scale IP(4/6) carrier grade networks, and holistic security solutions dealing with networks spanning multiple continents, site counts in the tens of thousands, and endpoint counts in the millions. Mr. Edmonds' range of experience with network technologies includes corporate, local and wide area networks, Zero Trust, PKI including CP and CPS development, co-location/Cloud and enterprise remote access.
Ernie is a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator/Engineer (MCSA/MCSE), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), ForeScout certified, and others. He has successfully led some of the largest infrastructure and cloud datacenter deployments in the world as Technical & Product Leads. Successful compliance programs include acting in the roles of Primary Certifier (NIST based C&A) and Senior Information Assurance Architect, Policy and Technical Standards Developer, and Cyber Security SME.
