OPERATING STATUS
A: With the exception of Air Force 1102 foreign students, FLN, FMS, and NATO students who want to take DAU online courses must have a DoD CAC or a DAUID in order to submit the DAU SAAR. If you meet either of these requirements, you can go to the DAU SAAR to request an account. Otherwise, please follow the guidance below.
Air Force foreign students in Contracting (1102) should NOT use their DOD-CAC to request a DAU account. Please submit a request through the Public Service Portal and ensure you note your EIN number so the help desk can determine if you already have an account OR have an account created for you.
EIN - Employee Identification Number (consisting of letters and numbers) used for students in lieu of a Social Security Number. An EIN to complete DAU courses should not be confused with an EIN associated to DCPDS (Defense Civilian Personnel Data System). An EIN to complete DAU courses must exist in ATRRS (Army Training Requirements & Resource System). FIN - Foreign Identification Number used for students in lieu of a Social Security Number. It is associated to a user's DoD CAC. When submitting the DAU SAAR, if the FIN associated to your CAC is not found in ATRRS, you will be required to establish an EIN.

A: The Defense Acquisition University is a corporate university responsible for establishing and maintaining a qualified Defense Acquisition Workforce. DAU training services are extended as a courtesy to many Non-DoD federal entities and international affiliates (Foreign Local National, Foreign Military Sales, and NATO) through various sponsorships. However, additional eligibility criteria may apply depending on the capabilities of each sponsor's Acquisition Training Office.
If you do not meet the eligibility requirements outlined by your applicable organization, you will not be authorized to register for DAU courses.
