Below are some of the common questions users have asked when setting up their account in the new DAU Identity Management system.
A: Unfortunately there is not an automated option to specifically request your Username. HOWEVER, if you have successfully setup your account, you can use the following workaround below to obtain your login information.- Go to https://id.dau.edu- Select "Need help signing in?"- Select "Forgot password?"- Enter your Email address- Select "Reset via Email"- When you receive the email, it will display your Username- A link will also be listed to reset your password, which is good for 1 hour
A: If you have not completed the account setup process, you will not be able to use the self-service feature to reset your own password. You need to request the DAU Help Desk (DAUHelp@dau.edu) provide you with your login information so you can officially setup your account. Include the last 4 of your SSN/EIN/FIN when submitting this request so your account can be validated.
A: You may be typing in your OLD username. Your NEW Username was listed in the "Welcome to Okta" and is also listed in the email. HINT: Your New Username has a minimum of 2 special characters. Click here to view additional tips that may help you remember your Username.
A: Yes! You can view the job-aid of this process by clicking here.
A: You must select the button that says "Send code" or "Send me the code" in order for a code to be sent to your Phone or Email. If you do not manually push the button, the code will not be sent.
A: The password requirements are as follows: - At least 10 characters - a lowercase letter - an uppercase letter - a number - a symbol - no parts of your username - Does not include your first name - Does not include your last name - Cannot be any of your last 4 passwords
A: Yes! Select the appropriate job-aid below. The steps you'll go through will vary depending on how your go through the account activation process.
A: When prompted, select the EMAIL certificate if it's available.
A: Multiple factors can impact your ability to login with your DoD CAC. Please see the guidance below.1. Browser: Refrain from using the Internet Explorer browser. The recommended browsers are Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. 2. Clear the Browser Cache: Click here and select the guidance for your browser to proceed. 3. Select the EMAIL CAC certificate: Click here for more guidance. **Additional Guidance: Some users have to disconnect from their work VPN in order to login to their account. You may want to try this option to see if it works for you. **Additional Guidance: Request your local IT Support add *.dau.edu as a Trusted website. NOTE: If you are unable to login to your account with your DoD CAC, the immediate workaround is to login with your Username & Password.
A: You have the option of logging in with your Username/Password or CAC. You can choose which option you prefer. If you choose to login with Username/Password, you will be prompted for a second multifactor before being granted access to your account. Due to issues some users experience when attempting to login with their DoD CAC, it's a good idea to have your Username/Password to use as an immediate workaround to access your account.
A: If you are logging into your account with a Username & Password, you must setup at least 1 multifactor in order to access your account. If you login with a DoD CAC, you will not be prompted for a multifactor to access your account.

A: SMS (short message service) is a text messaging service component of most telephone, Internet, and mobile device systems. It uses standardized communication protocols to enable mobile devices to exchange short text messages. During the initial setup of your Okta account, you're prompted to add a phone number (optional). The system can send a code to your phone via SMS (text) as a means to reset your password / unlock your account if you do not have access to your email.
A: You will need to submit the DAU SAAR to have an account establish in the DAU Identity Management System. Please use THIS JOB AID for assistance in submitting the DAU SAAR.
A: Once you receive the "Welcome to Okta" email, you have 30 DAYS to access your account. Once the link expires, you must contact the DAU Help Desk for assistance in activating your account.Send an email to the DAU Help Desk for assistance.Email: DAUHelp@dau.eduSubject Line: Account ActivationBody: Include the last 4 of your SSN/EIN/FIN so your account can be validated and your request expedited. Accounts must be validate before login information can be provided.
A: If the link has not expired and you are viewing the email in Plain Text instead of HTML, your organization may have added the word 'caution' or 'no click' to the beginning of the activation URL. Please carefully view the URL and avoid copying those words so the link will work.
A: The token link that's sent via email is no longer valid after it's been used. If you've successfully logged in and set up your account, you should start the login process directly at https://id.dau.edu instead of accessing the website using a link that was previously sent via email through the automated system.Note: Once you receive the "Welcome to Okta" email, you have 30 DAYS to access your account. Once the link expires, you must contact the DAU Help Desk to request a new activation link.
