Account Activation

Q: I submitted the SAAR but have not received an email to activate my account. What do I need to do to gain access to the system?

A: After submitting the SAAR, you should receive a "Welcome to DAU" email within 24 hours. If you do not receive an email, please contact the DAU Help Desk for further assistance with accessing your account.

Q: I had a DAU account in the past but have not logged in since last year. What do I need to do to gain access to the system?

A: You will need to submit the SAAR to reestablish your account in the DAU Identity Management System. Please use THIS JOB AID for assistance in submitting the SAAR.

Q: I was informed by my organization that a DAU account was created for me. I did not access my account right away. How do I gain access to the system.

A: Users receive a "Welcome to DAU" email when their account is created in the DAU Identity Management System. The email is sent to the "current" email address we have on file. The account must be activated within 30 days. Users who wait beyond this timeframe to activate their account must submit the SAAR in order to access the system. Please use THIS JOB AID for assistance in submitting the SAAR.

Q: My activation link has expired. What do I do now?

A: Once you receive the "Welcome to DAU" email, you have 30 DAYS to access your account. After the link expires, you must submit the SAAR in order to establish an account in the DAU Identity Management system again. Please use THIS JOB AID for assistance in submitting the SAAR.

Q: Why isn't my DAU Activation link working?

A: If the link has not expired and you are viewing the email in Plain Text instead of HTML, your organization may have added the word 'caution' or 'no click' to the beginning of the activation URL. Please carefully view the URL and avoid copying those words so the link will work.

Q: I received a message saying my token is expired. What do I need to do?

DAU Activation Link No Longer Valid

A: The token link that's sent via email is no longer valid after the first time it has been used. If you have successfully logged in and set up your account, you should start the login process directly at https://id.dau.edu instead of accessing the website using a link that was previously sent via email through the automated system.

NOTE: Once you receive the "Welcome to DAU" email, you have 30 DAYS to activate your account. After the link expires, you must submit the SAAR in order to establish an account in the DAU Identity Management system again. Please use THIS JOB AID for assistance in submitting the SAAR.
