Clearing the Browser Cache - Google Chrome
Overview
Clearing your Internet browser's cache (temporary Internet files, cookies and browsing history) is an important troubleshooting step in overcoming login and website navigational incidents. By completing this step, you ensure that your Internet browser is obtaining the latest content from the web server vs. potentially rendering locally stored data from a prior session.
Instructions for Google Chrome
- Within the Chrome browser, click on the Customize and control Google Chrome icon, commonly represented by three vertical (stacked) dots in the upper-right corner of the window.
-
Select Clear browsing data.
- Click on the Advanced tab within the Clear browsing data window.
- From the "Time range" drop-down menu, select All time.
- Ensure that at least the following options are checked:
- Cookies and other site data
- Cached images and files
- Hosted app data
-
After making the appropriate selections, select the Clear data button.
- Close all instances of the Chrome Internet browser to ensure these changes are effective.
