Password Assistance

Q: I forgot my password. How do I request a new one?

A: You may use the self-service feature from the login page to reset your password.

  1. Go to https://id.dau.edu
  2. Select the option that says "Need help signing in?"
  3. Select Forgot Password.
  4. Enter your Email address/Username.
    Reminder: Your Username is the Email address that's associated with your account.
  5. Select to reset your password via SMS or Email.

NOTE: SMS can only be used if a mobile phone number has been associated with your account.

Q: HELP! I requested a password be sent to me via email, but there is not a password in the email I was sent. Where is my password?

A: If you have not FULLY completed the account setup process, you will not be able to use the self-service feature to reset your own password. Part of this process includes establishing a Security Question. Submit a request through the DAU Public Service Portal to obtain your login information so you can complete the account setup process. Include the last 4 of your SSN/EIN/FIN or your DOD EDIPI when submitting this request so your account can be validated.

Q: I'm trying to reset my password, but I do not remember the answer to my Challenge/Security Question. What should I do? 

A: If you do not remember the answer to your security question, please contact the DAU Help Desk for assistance with logging into your account. You will also be provided with guidance on updating your security question.

Q: How do I change the Challenge/Security question on my account? 
A: To change your Challenge/Security question, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to https://id.dau.edu
  2. Once your dashboard loads, select your Name from the top right side to see the available menu options.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Edit Profile.
    NOTE: You may be prompted to enter a second factor at this point. 
  5. Locate the Forgotten Password Question section and select Edit.
  6. You will be able to select a question and enter your answer. 
  7. Select Save when finished.
  8. Select My Apps from the left menu to return to your dashboard.  

Q: I'm trying to reset my password. I changed organizations and the verification code is going to email address I no longer have access to. What should I do?  

A: If you are unable to obtain a verification code via email because you no longer have access to that account, please contact the DAU Help Desk for assistance. Additionally, you will be provided with guidance on updating your user profile.
