The theme is “Achieving Better Acquisition Outcomes in Austere Times – Improved Processes, Reduced Overhead.” The forum will provide an opportunity for both government and industry acquisition professionals to receive training and perspectives on implementing the Better Buying Power (BBP) 2.0 initiatives of the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics. Through a series of plenary and classroom training sessions, attendees will learn about such topics as:
· Driving Unnecessary Costs out of the Services Acquisition Process
· Agile Program Management

· The Future of Defense Acquisition
· Promoting Tacit Learning of Acquisition Managers
· Infrastructure versus War Fighting Capability, and
· Summary Reports of Winning Papers of the Hirsch Research Paper Competition
In a period of fiscal challenges and technological opportunities, the sessions will focus on learning hard skills – training in the latest USD(AT&L) policy, practices and techniques that attendees can take back to the workplace and apply. The training forum will take place from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The forum provides four Continuous Learning Points (CLP) for continued DoD acquisition certification.
