Durable Electroplated Anticorrosion Coatings for Small Caliber Ammunition Penetrators

This effort will investigate several electrodeposited protective metallic coatings for steel that are used widely throughout the automotive, aerospace, and coinage industries. One or more of these low cost environmentally benign coatings may provide enhanced corrosion protection, a longer storage life, and impart greater soldier confidence of the M855A1 ammunition.
